TBIBank: An International Shared Database to Enhance Research, Teaching and Automated Language Analysis for Traumatic Brain Injury Populations

Traumatic brain injury (TBI), affecting an estimated 69 million people worldwide each year, is identified as a major public health priority requiring large-scale collaborative research. TBIBank is presented as a digital health resource developed to create a shared database for investigating communication disorders after TBI, incorporating a standardized discourse protocol, automated language analyses, and tools for diagnostic profiling and treatment evaluation. The platform’s e-learning component is also outlined, alongside its potential research, clinical, and educational applications and future directions for growth.
